Hugh Thomas Johnson, age 76, of Jasper, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Hugh is part of a large loving family. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Johnson of Jasper; son, Jeffery and Tina Johnson of Jasper; daughter, Amberle Godfrey and Robert Keller of Jasper; brothers and sisters, Jackie Mullins of Jasper, Clayton Johnson of Jasper, Barron Johnson of Jasper, Gail Baldwin of Madison, Gary Johnson of Jasper, Sandra Walker of Jasper; grandchildren, Ryan Godfrey of Zebulon, Camille Kuykendall of Jasper, Brooks Godfrey of New Jersey, Mallory Johnson of Jasper and Jacob Godfrey of Jasper; great-grandchildren Riley Godfrey, Brody Godfrey and Jonas Godfrey. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive. Hugh always had a ready smile and a twinkle in his eye.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Buck Parker and Reverend Adam Parker officiating. Internment with follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

They will accept flowers or contributions can be made to Antioch Baptist Church.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.
