Robert R. Reece, age 81 of Jasper, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. He was born August 31, 1938 to Hassel and Flonnie Reece.

He is survived by his children, Wanda and Tony Fagan of Ellijay; Bobbie and Ricky Harris of Jasper; Jeannie and Jim Van Alistine of Woodstock; Shelia and Joey Cooper of Hiram; Ricky and Leanne Reece of Harlem; Michael and Michelle Reece of Ellijay; brother, Jerry Reece; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Harris officiating.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory, Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday, September 16, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Mary Jean Adams: Obituary

Mary Jean Adams, age 87, passed away with her loving family beside her on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Golden Isles Hospice in Brunswick. Mrs. Adams was a retired lab tech with the CDC after 23 years of service. She loved her Lord, family, and service to the community. She was an avid golfer and tennis player up until her eighties.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Webster Jerome Rumph and Laura Bell Rumph; two brothers, Harold Rumph and John Buddy Rumph; and the love of her life, Thomas Earl Adams.

She is survived by son, William (Bill) Adams; Karen L. Crosby, her YaYa of Brunswick; daughter, Vicki Schopper of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Jason Adams of Rockmart, Teri Adams Morrow of Rockmart, Natilie D’Ambro of Tennessee, Angela Bishop, Nadia Hummer of Illinois; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis Grimsley of Snellville, Shirley Kane Buckley of Flowery Branch; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Mock officiating. Mrs. Adams will lie-in-state beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Big Canoe Cemetery with the following grandchildren and nephews serving as pallbearers: Tristan Adams, Koby Adams, Chase Adams, Eric D’Ambro, Dennis Van Zant, Kevin Buckley, Preston Buckley, Jason Morrow, Tristan Morrow, Gary Rumph. Alternate pallbearers will be Cade Holder and Chris D’Ambro. Honorary pallbearers are Staff of Addington Place of Brunswick and Staff of Golden Isles Hospice of Brunswick.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made in her memory to Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 1036 North Main Street; Jasper, Georgia 30143.

Mrs. Zelda Dominy of Jasper, Georgia passed on to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 16, 2019 at The Landings in Gainesville, Georgia.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Roper Funeral Home and Crematory at 206 Holly Street in Jasper, Georgia. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ben Mock officiating.

The family will be receiving visitors at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Dominy will be laid to rest next to her husband of 50 years, Reginald (Buck) Dominy at Lake Forest Memorial Park; 280 Camp Road; Jasper, Georgia.

She has also been preceded by her son, Andy S. Dominy; brothers, John H. (J.H.) Starley, Jesse F. Starley, James O. Starley; and sister, Millie K. Cox.

Zelda is survived by her sons, Reginald H. (Reg) Dominy Jr., Gregory H. Dominy and his wife, Ruth; daughter, Kathy L. Shell; daughter-in-law, Karen L. Dominy; son, Paul R. Dominy and his wife, Linda Carol.

She is also survived by her siblings, Wynelle Crawford, Ronnie R. Starley, Kaye R. Starley, and Albert W. (Al) Starley; grandchildren, Laura Stubbs, Abby Dominy, Jennifer Waddell, Christie Nolte, Lisa King, Robin Canup, Sean Dominy, Amy Livingston, Brad Shell, Jason Dominy, Andrea Dominy, Nick Oliver, Sean Oliver, Tim Toms Jr., Alison Dominy, Brian Dominy; and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Zelda loved everyone and was loved by all. She loved Jesus, her church, and had many friends that were precious to her. She will be greatly missed.

Rose Sammarco Carnevale, age 102 of Big Canoe, Georgia passed Wednesday, September 11, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of East Rutherford, New Jersey and parishioner at St. Joseph Church. She was married to Frank J. Carnevale, Sr., deceased.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia and Rosalind; one son, Frank J. Carnevale; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church at 120 Hoboken Road; East Rutherford, New Jersey 07073.

Mr. J.B. Beck, age 72 of Jasper, passed away Thursday September 12, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Beck is survived by his Son & Daughter-in-Law: David & Tina Beck of Jasper; Daughter & Son-in-Law: Amanda & Keith Childers of Jerusalem Community; Sister: Marty Beck of Gainesville; Grandchildren: Tyler & Morgan Beck, Kenzie Coffey, Whitney Childers, Kelsey Crump and Ryan Crump; Great-Grandchildren: Carter Beck and Kenleigh Sampson; several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation is Friday September 13, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM, Saturday September 14, from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM and Sunday September 15, from 8:00 AM until the funeral hour.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Sunday September 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home, with Rev. Gene Hyde and Rev. Johnny Padgett officiating.

Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, following the funeral service.

Pallbearers: David Beck, Tyler Beck, Jody Clark, Keith Childers, Terry Batt and Ryan Crump.

Mary Alice Goodwin, age 93 of Canton, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Wildwood Health Care. Mary was born February 3, 1926 to Ezel and Elvy Morgan.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Kathy Goodwin of Jasper, Larry and Joyce Goodwin of Dawsonville; sisters, Beatrice Goodwin of Fairmount, Christine Blankenship of Hickory Flat; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Goodwin; daughter, Martha Pruitt; and great-grandson, Ethan Goodwin.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby McFarland and Reverend Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park.

The family will be receiving friends at South Canton Funeral Home, Friday, September 13, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Gordon Thomas Cunningham: Obituary

Gordon Thomas Cunningham, 74, of Jasper, Georgia died September 7, 2019, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital surrounded by his wife and daughters. Gordon was born to Thomas and Alice Cunningham, July 19, 1945 in White Plains, New York. He graduated from Mahopac High School in Mahopac, New York in 1963. Gordon married the love of his life, Mary Carlyle in 1966 and they have been happily married for 53 years.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Gary Cunningham.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Mary Cunningham; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Greg Ferrara, Heather and Michael Colbaugh. The highlight of his later years was time spent with his grandchildren, Michael, Gregory, and Sabine. Gordon loved spending time with his family and friends and is survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Scott and Linda Cunningham, Greg Cunningham; aunt, Selma Strassburg; cousins, Harry Tompkins, Neal Strassburg, Lee Strassburg, Jack Strassburg; and much loved nieces and nephews.

His family will forever remember Gordon as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who was a great story teller, encourager and prankster. He was a lover of sports, coaching, the great outdoors with all it brings, great friends, and the occasional caught fish. He was known to speak his mind, was generous in sharing his knowledge, and was well respected as an artist, craftsman and antique dealer.

Visitation will be at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper, September 12, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Jasper, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 am with a reception following. A private interment will be at a later time.

Stell of Rockdale County; twelve Grandchildren, thirty-two Great-Grandchildren, five Great-Great-Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday September 14, 2019 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, with Phil Allred officiating.
