Betty Smith Cantrell, age 98, of Jasper (formerly of Asheville, North Carolina) passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Jasper after an extended illness.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Al and Becky Cantrell of Jasper; niece, Susan Demorsky of Frisco, Texas; niece, Mary Jean Demorsky of Asheville, North Carolina; nephew, Mark Demorsky of Black Mountain, North Carolina.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2018 at Lewis Memorial Park in Asheville, North Carolina. Interment will follow. (Lewis Memorial Park: 415 Beaver Dam Road; Asheville, NC 28804)

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
