  • Nelson City Manager Resigns

    During last night’s city council meeting, City Manager Brandy Edwards resigned her position of ten years. She had requested an executive session to tender that resignation but it was denied so she submitted it during the portion of the meeting allotted for her city report. She stated, “Enough is enough” and declined to “point fingers”.

  • Nelson Loses Two Council Members to Resignation

    During last night’s work session a combination of disbelief and surprise seemed to be the prevailing feeling over the resignation of two city council members from Nelson. The two council members, Jonathan Bishop and Duane Cronic, hand-delivered their resignation letters to City Manager Brandy Edwards Friday, March 28, with no further discussion.

  • Jasper feels heat from second lawsuit

    In line with their assertions, the Appalachian Villas Property Owners’ Association (POA) has filed a second lawsuit over the same area formerly contested by Randy Eaton last fall. The adjoining properties have become an on-going issue for the city for allegedly failing to honor obligations regarding grading and storm drainage. The POA is seeking $205,439.66.
