Anthony Lynn Chastain, age 54, of Ellijay, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at Piedmont Mountainside Ellijay. He was born September 29, 1965 to Joe and Beatrice Chadwick Chastain in Jasper. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He then served in law enforcement with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department for 27 years.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Shannon Chastain of Ellijay; daughter, Amanda Darby of Ellijay; son, Austin Chastain of Ball ground; daughter, Breanna Chastain and fiancee, Brandon Wray of Canton; son, Kaden Chastain of Ellijay; son, Trey Adkins of Jasper; siblings, Larry and Mary Chastain of Ellijay; Carol and Stephen Bostick of Jasper; and his loving beagle, Max. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Beatrice Chastain.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2020 at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Wigington officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday, February 10, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m .

Memorial contributions can be made to Cool Springs Baptist Church in his honor.
