July 16, 1944 – December 10, 2018

Mr. Joe Southerland, age 74, of Talking Rock, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

Mr. Southerland is survived by his wife, Wilma Southerland of 55 years. Son & Daughter-in-Law; Joey and Nicole Southerland of Talking Rock. Daughter & Son-in-Law; Tammy Jo and Michael Young of Jasper. Sisters: Betty Rittenberry of Whitestone and Jackie Davis of Herndon, West Virginia. Six Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, December 11, 2018 form 11 AM until 9 PM. Wednesday, December 12, from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM and Thursday, December 13, from 8:00 AM until the Funeral Hour.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, December 13 in the Cagle Funeral Chapel. Rev. Rev Kenny Green and Rev. Tracy Welchel officiating.

Pall Bearers: Shane Bateman, James Wright, Donnie Fountain, Jimmy Ray, Travis Davis, and Eric Southerland.

Honorary Pallbearers: Greg Chastain and Herman Hollingshead

Internment will be in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral services.

In lieu of flowers the family will be accepting donations.
