Michael Herbert Chumley departed this life on January 15, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 10, 1945 in Marble Hill, Georgia

He is survived by his wife, Sara; his children, Lana and Marty Callahan, Tommy and Gwen Chumley, and Tina Chumley; his grandchildren, Joe and Alicia Chumley, Abbey Callahan, and Claire Callahan; brother, Rex and Linda Millsap; stepfather, L. J. Millsap; his brother-in-law, Johnny Brock; nephew, Jason Brock; and his best pals “Charlie,” “Taz,” and “Buster.”

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Jasper United Methodist Church with Kevin Roper officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, January 18, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

The family will accept flowers and food or donations may be made to St. Jude Childern’s Hospital or Shiners Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.
