Shirley Long Patterson, age 81 of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Pruitt Health. Shirley was born September 11, 1937 to Riley and Jane Long in Pickens County.

Shirley is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel Patterson of Jasper, David Patterson of Jasper, Doug and Layla Patterson of Talking Rock; brother, Jerry Long of Fairmount; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Patterson.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Jess Posey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Jake Patterson, Tyler Patterson, Nick Patterson, Josh Patterson, Andy Tennison, Jabo Patterson, and Peter Darnell. Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Patterson and Garrett Patterson.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Friday, August 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
