Mary Lucile Kirk

December 2, 1921 – February 19, 2019

Mary Lucile Kirk, age 97, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Pruitt Health in Jasper. Mrs. Kirk was born December 2, 1921 to Dallas and Vada Byess in Marble Hill, Georgia.

Mrs. Kirk is survived by her children, Steve and Sherri Kirk of Talking Rock, Joan and Toddy Hendrix of Marble Hill, Judith Kirk and Karen Kesselburg of Tennessee, Joyce and Wayne Anderson of Jasper; grandchildren, Donna and Scott Stewart, Ami and Kenny Jones, Tricia and Jack Roberts, Kirk and Amanda Anderson; great-grandchildren, Kayla Collis and Lindsey Smith, Ryan Stewart, Tyson Jones, Peyton Jones, Kaitlyn and Brett Cash, Joli Anderson, Aiden Anderson; great-great-grandchild, Amelia Cash; sister, Ruby Byess Wall of Cartersville. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Chesley Kirk; parents, Dallas and Vada Byess; sisters, Kate Little and Betty Parks; brothers, A. J. Byess and Bobby Byess.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Reverend Grant Wade, Reverend Buck Parker, Reverend Charles Holbert and Reverend Kenneth Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, February 20th, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in her honor.
