Timothy David Jones, age 79, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. He was born April 15, 1940 to Howard and Eleanor Jones in Cleveland, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Air Force and then worked with the GBI for nine years; and as a policeman in Wichita, Kansas. He enjoyed racing motorbikes, motorcycles, and cars. He was a master gunsmith and did special effects for movies such as “Fried Green Tomatoes” and “Sideboard.”

He is survived by his wife, Anita Jones of Jasper; sons, Patrick Jones of Atlanta, Mike Jones of Dawsonville; daughters, Debra Joyce of St. Paul, Minnesota and Eleanor Baughman of St. Paul, Minnesota; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 9:00 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2019 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
