During last night’s work session a combination of disbelief and surprise seemed to be the prevailing feeling over the resignation of two city council members from Nelson. As expected, Nelson swore in its new city council members and mayor last night. Board Incumbent Jackie Jarrett, newly-elected member Thad Thacker and new Mayor Larry Ray all took their oaths of office last night in the council’s first meeting of the year. (more…)
Slated improvements to the basketball court and the walking trail in Nelson will be put on the backburner for the time being as the park is still under construction and the weather will not permit proper conditions to make repairs to the court area. (more…)
Nelson City Council meetings are known for their contentious atmosphere. However the meeting conducted Monday night was marked by arguing between a public official and a citizen, unlike other recent nearby city meetings which were earmarked by S.P.L.O.S.T. disagreements. (more…)
