This week’s #TeamFYNSports Players of the Week are Kealy Hillhouse & Zach Goss. The Nettes & Dragons only had one game this week as they hosted Southeast Whitfield for Senior Night.

 

Kealy Hillhouse, has really stepped up her game as the season has gone by. She was a big part of the Nettes’ win over Christian Heritage the week before, & continued that play against the Lady Raiders finishing with 4 points, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, & 1 steal.

 

Zach Goss, led the Dragons in scoring in this, his final home game as a Senior. Goss, finished with 22 points, 2 assists, 8 rebounds, & 2 steals.

This Week’s #TeamFYNSports Players of the Week are Reagan Harwood & Tucker Lowe: The Nettes’ & Dragons each had three games this week as they went to Southeast Whitfield, hosted Christian Heritage, & traveled to Dawson.

 

Reagan Harwood, is an example of a younger player getting better as the season goes along. Harwood, comes off the bench for the Nettes’, but makes the most of the opportunities she’s given. Harwood, had 2 points, 5 rebounds, & a steal against Southeast Whitfield, 3 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound, 1 steal, & 1 block against Christian Heritage. Harwood held her own against a good Dawson team as well.

 

Tucker Lowe, has grown more comfortable with varsity basketball in this, his sophomore season. Not only is Lowe a threat to knock down a three after he crosses half court, he’s gotten better defensively as the season has gone on & learning to use his quickness more to drive into the lane. Against Southeast Whitfield, Lowe had 9 points, 1 rebound, & 1 steal. Against Christian Heritage, he had 14 points, 1 assist, & 1 rebound. He finished with 3 points against a good Dawson squad.

This week’s #TeamFYNSports Players of the Week are Sarah Morris & Owen Moss. Both the Nettes and the Dragons had tough week’s this week going 0-2 against region competition.

 

Sarah Morris, had a good week despite the tough losses. Morris plays good defense & when rolling, can light up the scoreboard quickly. Against Gilmer, she had 4 points, & 1 rebound. Against Northwest Whitfield, she finished with 12 points & 2 rebounds.

 

Owen Moss is one half of the starting sophomore duo along with Tucker Lowe. Moss, is very quick with the ball. He uses that quickness to get into the lane & help on defense. Against Gilmer, Moss finished with 2 points, 2 assists, & 5 rebounds. Against the Bruins, Moss had 9 points, 1 assist, 3 rebounds, & 1 steal.

This week’s #TeamFYNSports Players of the Week are Torie Williams & Brady Moore. PHS, had an out of region game & a region game this week as they hosted Cedartown, & traveled to LaFayette:

 

Torie Williams, had a big hand in the Nettes’ going 2-0 for the week as she finished with 9 points, 7 assists, 2 rebounds, & a steal against Cedartown, & 17 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, & 1 block against LaFayette.

 

Brady Moore, did a lot of dirty work in these two games against Cedartown & LaFayette. Against the Bulldogs he had an assist, 3 rebounds, & a steal, & against the Ramblers he finished with 4 points & 2 rebounds.

This week’s #TeamFYNSports Players of the Week are two Seniors. Olivia Simmons & Zach Goss. This week started region play for both the Nettes & the Dragons as they both went 1-1 during the week.

 

Olivia Simmons, can do just about anything you ask of her on the court. She can get rebounds, she has great vision when it comes to her passes. She can also knock down a three if you need her to. The Nettes’ faced Heritage & Ridgeland this week. Against the Lady Generals, Simmons had 2 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, & 1 steal. Against the Lady Panthers, Simmons tallied up 8 points, 8 assists, 10 rebounds, & 1 steal

 

For Zach Goss, he lit up the score book against Heritage & Ridgeland. Goss led the team in scoring during the week. Against Heritage, Goss had 24 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds, & 2 steals. Against Ridgeland, Goss finished with 27 points, 3 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, & 2 blocks.

This week’s #TeamFYNSports basketball Players of the Week are Mykenzie Weaver & Seth Bishop. These two players had a good week to begin the 2018-19 season. Here is a look at their week.

 

Mykenzie Weaver, had a busy week. The Nettes, hosted 7A Forsyth Central, then they took part in the annual Thanksgiving Tournament in Ellijay. Weaver, had 16 points, & 4 rebounds against Forsyth Central, 27 points, 9 rebounds, & 5 steals against Fannin, 23 points, & 5 rebounds against Hiwassee Dam, & 10 points, & 5 rebounds against Gilmer. She was named to the All-Tournament Team.

 

Seth Bishop, had 18 points against Fannin, 22 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, & 10 rebounds against Hiwassee Dam, & 15 points, & 12 rebounds against Gilmer. Seth was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

This week’s #TeamFYNSports Sports Writer Players of the Week are Sarah Morris & Tucker Lowe. The Dragons & Dragonettes had a busy, & tough week this past week with three road games. Both teams went 1-2 in those road games as the Nettes were able to pick up a win against Christain Heritage, & the Dragons stunned Northwest Whitfield.

 

Sarah Morris, has become a valuable piece for the Nettes in this her Junior season. Morris, had a good week this week contributing in the three road games Pickens played in. Morris finished with 7 points, 2 rebounds, & a steal against Gilmer, & 4 points, 1 assist, 2 rebounds, & a steal against Christian Heritage.

 

Tucker Lowe, is the three point marksman for the Dragons. The Sophomore guard contributed to a lot of points for Pickens in their games this week, & also stepped things up on the defensive side as well. Lowe, had 12 points, 3 assists, & 1 steal against Gilmer, 21 points, 3 assists, & 3 rebounds against Northwest Whitfield, & 12 points, 1 assist, & 1 steal against Christian Heritage.

 

Both the Dragons & Dragonettes have one game this week & it’s set for now to be Tuesday against Southeast Whitfield for Senior Night. With the impending winter weather headed this way, keep an eye on any potential moving around of games this week.

This week’s #TeamFYNSports Sports Writer basketball Players of the Week are Mykenzie Weaver & Zach Goss. The Nettes’ & Dragons, only had one game this week, and these two played big roles in their games.

 

For Mykenzie Weaver, she has played well all season, even surpassing the 1,000 career point mark before Christmas of her Junior year. Weaver, led the Nettes in scoring on Friday in their win against the LaFayette Lady Ramblers. Weaver finished with 32 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds, & 2 steals.

 

Zach Goss, has been a leader on this Dragons team in this his Senior year. The Tennessee Tech football commit, has helped out the Dragons basketball team in many ways. Goss, finished with 12 points, 4 assists, & 2 steals against the LaFayette Ramblers Friday night.

 

The Nettes & the Dragons will be on the road this week as they have two region games, & their final non-region game of the season on tap. First up, a match up with their 515 rival Gilmer in Ellijay on Tuesday night. The Nettes, will tip of at 6, followed by the Dragons at 7:30.
