The Pickens High School Dragons baseball team held its annual end of the year banquet to recognize superlatives and the graduating seniors. The banquet marked the last for head coach Jason Nunn, who recently traded the ball field for the insurance field. (more…)
The Pickens High School Dragons baseball team wrapped up a three game series with the Knights of River Ridge. Despite the series win, the Dragons will not be at the Region “Round Table” as Pickens missed out on making the Region Tournament by one game, finishing fourth in sub region play at 5-7. The Pickens High School Dragons baseball team was swept in a three game series with the Cedartown Bulldogs. Pickens came into the series hot, with a 6-3 record; however the sweep by the Bulldogs has dropped the Dragons to .500 at 6-6. (more…)
The Pickens High School Dragons baseball team hosted region rival, Ridgeland. Though the Panthers put Pickens in a pickle early, the Dragons heated up in the bottom of the seventh. Erasing a four run deficit, Pickens picked up the win when Taylor Logan bases loaded, base clearing standing double secured the 9-8 victory. (more…)
The Pickens Dragons baseball team hosted the Indians of Murray County. The Dragons toasted the Indians 15-0 in a game that was called in the third after Jake Klein’s RBI double scored Tyler Garner for the game’s 15th and final run. (more…)
The Pickens Dragons suffered a disappointing loss on Friday night against the River Ridge Knights, giving up eighteen points in the fourth quarter in a 28-26 defeat that gave the Knights the #1 seed in the Region 7-AAAA subregion A and left the Dragons’ playoff chances in serious trouble.

The Pickens Dragons just couldn’t slow down the Gilmer Bobcats enough on Friday night, as the visiting Cats came into a packed Dragons Stadium and defeated the home team by the final score of 21-13. (more…)
The Pickens Dragons added two more games to the win column yesterday thanks to a sweep of the Cass Colonels, which leaves the team with an unblemished mark in summer ball and a current winning streak of twenty-four games.
Pickens had very little trouble in its double header with Cass, coasting to an 8-4 win in the first game and then clobbering the Colonels 12-2 in the second. (more…)
The Pickens High School Dragons baseball team kept its undefeated summer streak alive with a two game sweep of the Warriors of Gordon Central High School in Calhoun on the Warriors’ own home field. Fresh off sweeping the Wildcats of Woodland 3-0 and 8-5 in a double header the previous day; Pickens picked apart Gordon Central with two straight shutouts of 6-0 and 15-0. The Pickens High School Dragons baseball team continued the summer’s hot streak, remaining undefeated on the summer. The Dragons traveled to Cartersville to take on the Wildcats of Woodland High School. Pickens posted a 3-0 shutout victory over the home team, despite all the runs coming in the first inning. Pickens’ Colton Prather pitched a complete game shutout with 13 strike outs, including five of the last six batters he faced. (more…)
The Pickens baseball team did just enough to top the Ridgeland Panthers at home on Monday, as the Dragons recorded the final out of the ballgame with two Panthers left on base to give the team as well as the three seniors on it—Chance McEntyre, Cameron Nicholes, and Joe Powell—a 11-10 victory on Senior Night.

The Pickens Dragons’ baseball team went .500 in their two games on Thursday and Friday, as the team defeated the Cedartown Bulldogs 9-0 and then lost to the Lafayette Ramblers 4-0 the following day.
